The federal government of Karnataka on Wednesday determined to call Shivamogga airport after the previous leader minister and senior chief of the BJP. BS Edyurappa.
Chatting with the media, Leader Minister Bommai mentioned the cupboard had determined to call Shivamogga Airport after BSY as he was once instrumental in opening the airport within the town. Now the proposal will likely be despatched to the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
A number of visionaries and previous minister Eshwarappa publicly demanded that the airport be named after the Lingayat chief.
Alternatively, the Karnataka State Congress in 2021 demanded that the development of the Shivamogga airport terminal be stopped. He objected to the lotus-shaped design of the airport.
The BJP was once fast to protect its determination. It mentioned that the lotus was once the nationwide flower and had not anything to do with the BJP election image.
Shivamogga Airport is beneath development in Sogan at the outskirts of the town. The development value of the airport is estimated at Rs 384 crore. The development of the airport runway with a period of one.7 km has already been finished.
